Ascentis now offers clients several pre-recorded training sessions on Ascentis Payroll free of charge. You may watch and re-watch these trainings from anywhere you have Internet access! Payroll Product Overview (30 minutes)

The Product Overview training provides the viewer with a tour of the entire Payroll product, outlining the purpose of many of the different tools and features found within Ascentis Payroll. This is an ideal training for any user, who will have access to the Payroll Module, to start off with as it will help you narrow down which additional trainings may be applicable for you.

Employee Training (45 minutes)

The Employee Training is a detailed training on the Employee feature within Payroll. The Employee feature is the primary tool used to access employee master files, employee history, the pay check simulator and more. This training will review the use and customization of the Employee look-up table, the process for mass importing master file information, how to access employee history (i.e. check history, pay summary history etc…), as well as examples on the use of the Paycheck simulator tool. This is an ideal training for anyone that will be accessing employee master file information within the Payroll module.

Master File Trainings (Total of 3 hours)

The master file trainings are broken into a small individual training on each screen of the master file. All of the trainings listed below includes useful tips and details on purposes and functionality within the screen. These are ideal trainings for anyone that will be accessing employee master file information within Payroll.

Workflow Training HR/Self Service (30 minutes)

The Change Review window is where users can go to see the workflow for pending changes for changes requested from other Ascentis modules such as HR or Self Service. The Change Review Window training will provide users with the details on the different options located within this feature. This is an ideal training for anyone that will be responsible for viewing and/or approving pending employee changes into Payroll.

Third Party (20 minutes)

The Third Party tool is used to maintain payee records for any 3rd party payees you would like to issue checks or EFT payments to through Payroll. Although clients primarily use this tool to setup payees for Garnishments and Child Support, it may be used for any 3rd party payments that need to be made after payroll (i.e. United Way, Uniforms, HSA accounts etc…). This is an ideal training for all payroll processors interested in using this feature to pay 3rd party payees.

Reports (20 minutes)

The Reports training provides viewers with a detailed review of the Reports tool within Payroll including useful tips on viewing, printing and downloading reports, saving reports and options for running standard reports. This is an ideal training for anyone that will be viewing or running reports within Ascentis Payroll.

Report Training (2 hours)

This course is ideal for new clients and those new to using the report writer. During this course you will receive the foundation for custom report writing and you will learn how to write simple master file and wage reports using an easy and efficient report writing tool called the Report Wizard.

InstaChecks (50 minutes)

The InstaChecks training provides viewers with a detailed review of the InstaCheck tool. This is the primary tool that clients use to issue off-cycle or manual checks. This is an ideal training for all payroll processors.

Paid payroll training

Payroll Processing Training (2 hours - $350)

We recognize that clients have very unique needs to process their payroll so Ascentis offers clients customized Payroll Processing training. This is typically handled through an on-line tool such as GoToMeeting where users may all share and view the same screens. During this training we will review your unique needs and outline the specific steps you will follow to complete your payrolls. We will also review common payroll processing procedures such as voiding checks, reviewing audit reports, recalculating, creating checks and finalizing the payroll.

General Customized Training ($175 per hour)

Ascentis also offers clients customized one-on-one training. This is typically handled through an on-line tool such as GoTo Meeting where users may all share and view the same screens. The first thing we will do is contact you to determine what areas of the Payroll module you would like to cover during your training. That will help us determine the amount of time to allocate for this training.

Report Training - Advanced (3 hours - $525)

This course builds on the foundation laid in Part I of Report Training. This course will give you tools to trouble shoot common report writing issues as well as demonstrate several reports that show more intermediate and advanced features and tools available in custom report writing.
