Q1 2010 ASCENTIS eNEWSLETTER

Moving to Software-as-a-Service (Cloud Computing)
by Les Goldstein, CEO, Ascentis

Over the past decade, the business community has undergone a major change in the selection process of business solutions (like Ascentis) to meet their requirements. Traditional applications were developed either in-house or by a third party while almost always residing on the end-user’s premises. This traditional on-premise software was obtained through purchasing a license from the vendor, making the buyer responsible for hardware costs, third-party software license fees, glass house footprint, power, and operating support associated with keeping the system running effectively.

With the advent and acceptance of cloud computing, it has become possible to have these applications accessible on a remote server while requiring only an Internet connection. This eliminates all previously mentioned support costs and has the added benefit of making upgrades virtually seamless. Ascentis has a state-of-the-art SAS70 Type II certified datacenter with a proven track record of system reliability and security, ensuring Ascentis solutions are available whenever you need them. Like many companies today, Ascentis offers our licensed clients the opportunity to easily convert from license to SaaS and accrue the benefits associated with this more cost effective mode of operation.

Please feel free to contact your account manager or customer service representative to more fully discuss this exciting opportunity.

As always I want to thank you for your business and, most importantly, the opportunity to work hard to continue to earn your loyalty. We want to be your best partner.
